Painter Edith DuBose Painter, 69, of 2206 Avondale Drive, died July 19, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Bienville, she was the wife of Marion R. Painter, and daughter of the late Stephen B. and Mary Corley DuBose. She was a member of Ben Avon United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and VFW Auxiliary. She was a homemaker. Ms. Painter graduated from Zwolle High School in 1940. Also surviving are five sons, Robert E. Painter of Bayonne, N. J., Ted A. Painter of Onancock, Va., Carroll L. Painter of Tampa, Fla., and Thomas, and Marion J. Painter of Spartanburg; two daughters, Kaye P. Hanson of Austin, Texas, and Kathryn P. Morgan of Spartanburg; four brothers, M. B., and Fred DuBose of Biloxi, Miss., Jack DuBose of Vidor, Texas, and Neil DuBose of California, a sister, Lois Laurent of Merryville; and nine grandchildren. Graveside services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Boyce Brooks.
