Rev. Don Hagar, pastor of Springridge Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was held in Springridge Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Mrs. Ponder, a native of Loraine, Tex., died October 15, 1994, at her residence. She had been a resident of Pleasant Hill for 77 years. She was a housewife, and a member of Springridge Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry D. Ponder. Survivors are her sons, Glen Ponder and wife Melva Rita of Pleasant Hill, Maurice Ponder and wife Murline of Bossier City; her daughter, Lurline and husband William S. Edwards of Magnolia, Tex.; six grandchildren, Scott and Sharon Edwards of Houston, Janet and Tommy Smith of Haughton, Gary and Nancy Ponder of Bossier City, Brenda and Walter Crenshaw of Orlando, Fla., Randall and Sharon Ponder of Haughton, Russell Ponder, and Connie Ponder of Houston; and 15 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Edwards, Gary Ponder, Randall Ponder, Russell Ponder, Walter Crenshaw, and Tommy Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Hal Crenshaw (Alt.), Jacob Ponder, Chris Edwards, Michael Ponder, and Jonathan Ponder.
