Ponder, 72, were held at 2 p.m., Feb. 21, with interment in Springridge Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Rev. Tullos Colston, and Rev. David Allen officiated. Mr. Ponder passed away on Feb. 19, 1995, at his residence in Natchitoches. Mr. Ponder was born January 31, 1923, to Tilton and Elma Ponder in Pleasant Hill. Mr. Ponder was a veteran of WWII, POW, awarded numerous medals, including Purple Heart, member of V.F.W., D.A.V., and American Legion. Survivors include widow, Eula N. Ponder of Natchitoches; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Damien Buras, and LaJuana and David Finigan of Jefferson; two sisters, Sylvia Early of Belmont, and Yvonne Verdin of Marrero, La.; three brothers, Judge Elven E. Ponder, and Merlin Ponder, both of Baton Rouge, and Deward A. Ponder of Brazil; one grandchild, Joshua W. Buras; and several nieces and nephews.
