Pender, 83, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 22, at Kilpatrick's Chapel in Monroe, with interment following at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Monroe. The Rev. Marion Collier, and the Rev. Bill Wester officiated. Mr. Pender was a farmer in Bosco for over 50 years. He was an avid lover of fishing and gardening. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Crowville. Survivors include his widow, Jean Pender of Crowville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Delores Pender, and Wane and Linda Pender, all of Monroe, and Henry and Pat Pender of Bosco; three stepsons and step daughters-in-law, Billy and Ethel Williams, Danny and Paula Williams, and Guy and Maria Williams; three sisters, Docia Hardy of Bossier City, Jeanette Barnard of Bossier, and Leona Goolsby of Bosco; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Pender was preceded in death by his first wife, Zora Pender; and brother, L. T. Pender. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Jerry Thomas Pender, John Robert Pender, Steve R. Pender, and Jason M.
