Officiating was father David Richter, and Rev. Stephen Neesley. Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Military graveside services were conducted by the Sabine Chapter No. 21 of the DAV. Mr. Parrie is survived by his wife, Dorothy Parrie of Zwolle; three sons, Emmett Parrie Jr. and wife Debbie of Shreveport, Jackie Lynn Parrie and wife Julie of Zwolle, Garland Parrie and wife Amy, also of Zwolle; four daughters, Pat Getschel and husband Jerry of Zwolle, Barbara Sepulvado and husband Bernis of Ebarb, Betty Bucknell of Quincy, Jo Anna Presseau and husband Mike of Zwolle; nine sisters, Flora Marie Bass, Mary Bass, Lera Rogers, Doris Bass, and Diane Leach, all of Zwolle, Joyce Mitchell of Haughton, Elsie McLendon, and Francis Carter, both of Many, and Evone Patnoe of Jamesville, Wisc.; two brothers, William Leroy Parrie of Zwolle, and Pete Leon Parrie of Houston, Tex.; 21 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. Pallbearers were Roger Lopez, Henry Rivers, J. L. Pennington, Don Moreau, Lee Swindoll, and Martin Sepulvado Jr. Honorary pallbearers were the Zwolle-Ebarb VFW Post 5187.
