He was a skidder driver and timber harvester. He loved to fish and hunt. He never met a stranger, and loved to joke with family and friends. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Tim Hurd, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated. Survivors include his widow, Bonnie Parrie of Zwolle; one son, Dewayne Parrie of Zwolle; daughter, Jessica Parrie of Zwolle; seven sisters, Mary Ann Blankenship of Many, Florence Barker of Bossier City, Corine Scott of Sibley, Elsie Emery of Zwolle, Lucy McCoy of Converse, Beatrice Parrie of Hemphill, Texas, and Martha Etheridge of Zwolle; three brothers, Phillip Parrie Jr, and Raymond Parrie, both of Zwolle, and Donald Parrie of Keithville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Elvie Parrie; and sisters, Dorothy Meshell, and Selina Remedies. Pallbearers were Dean Parrie, Phillip Ethridge, Bobby "Pat" Trichel, Rusty Parrie, Timothy Ezernack, and Calvin Barker. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Many, La.
