She was a native of Florien, La., and the oldest child of the Late Sidney and Effie Addison. She had resided in Shreveport in recent years, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Graveside services were held Thursday, January 21, 1993, at Centuries Memorial Cemetery. She was preceded in death by three sons; and by her husband, Rev. E. J. Phares, a Baptist minister. Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Phares of Shreveport; four grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; three sisters, Inez Formby of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Minnie Lee of Many, Louisiana, and Nellie Lucius of Florien, Louisiana; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
