Graveside services were at 6 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 1995, at Bethlehem Cemetery, Claiborne Parish. Officiating was the Dr. Pat Day, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Shreveport. Assisting was Rev. George Rogers, pastor of Koran Baptist Church. Mrs. Phares died Friday, September 29, 1995, in Shreveport. She was born in Hillister, Texas, and resided in Shreveport. She was a registered nurse, a founder, and former head of Bossier Parish Health Unit Family Planning Clinic, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, and a member of the Air Stream Travel Club of America. Survivors include her husband, Ross Phares of Shreveport; sons, Robert H. Hollenshead and wife Cheryl of Gary, Texas, Harold H. Hollenshead and wife Jean of Benton, Kent Hollenshead of Shreveport, David Pope Hollenshead and wife Patricia, Dale Edwards Hollenshead of Haughton; sister, Blanche Sheffield of Silsbee, Texas; granddaughter, Lena Marie Hollenshead; great grandchildren, Emma Catlin Hollenshead, and T. Braxton Hollenshead. Pallbearers will be Trey F. Hollenshead, Robert H. Hollenshead, H. Travis L. Hollenshead, Jeffrey Todd Hollenshead, and Adam Lane Hollenshead, grandsons of Mrs. Phares; and nephew, Marty Wachtel.
