All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** George Carter Pierce Funeral services for George Carter Pierce, 65, of Los Angeles, Calif., were held Saturday, Dec. 28, 1996, at 1 p.m., at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Clois Rodgers. Interment was at New Jerusalem Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary. In the late 1950's George began working for the city of Los Angeles. In the late 1980's, he became a Mason. He was a member of Unity Lodge No. 15 AF&AM (Scottish Rite). George retired from the city of Los Angeles on July 31, 1995. God sent His death angel to bring George on home, early Friday morning, Dec. 20, at Golden West Convalescent Hospital in Hawthorne, Calif. George will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered by many. There are numerous stories and individual memories alive in our hearts. He leaves to mourn his passing, and cherish his "Precious Memories", seven children, Georgia Delores Williams-Baker (Gregory), Eric Dwight, Doyle (Eddie), George Carter Jr., Larry Carnell, all of Los Angeles, Calif., Joyce Ortiz (Anthony) of Atlanta, Ga.; and one God-child, Arnold Wolfe of Gardena, Calif., Sharon Pinkney of Elk Grove, Calif., and Jacqueline, and Debra Pierce of Oakland, Calif.; five grandsons; eight granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
