Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 21, at 2 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The Very Rev. David T. Richter, F. V., and Father Kenneth Williams, and Mark Schoth will officiate. Mr. John H. "Bub" Procell served in the U. S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the V. F. W., D. A. V., D. A. V. Transportation Coordinator, and the Lions Club. Other honors included; 1993 Tamale King, Town Councilman of Zwolle for five consecutive terms (20), Third Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Chief of the Zwolle Vol. Fire Dept., Reserve Sabine Parish Sheriff's Deputy, Reserve Honorary La. State Police Deputy, member of the Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb, and member of numerous hunting clubs. Mr. John was a sportsman. He loved hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors, and was an accomplished gardener. John made friends everywhere he went, and was loved by many. He lived life to the fullest, was successful in accomplishing his goals, and influenced everyone he met with his positive outgoing attitude. He was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Those who had the honor of knowing John or being a part of his life were truly blessed. Survivors include his widow of 60 years, Elvie Procell; one son, Lester Procell and wife Charlotte Procell of Lufkin, Texas; daughter, LaNell Howell and husband Wayne Howell of DeRidder, and Lorraine Procell of DeRidder; one sister, Elaine Landry of Kaplan; one brother, Oscar A. Procell, Bakersfield, Calif.; five grandchildren, Michael S. Howell, Dolan Procell and wife Jerri Lyn, Taurie Slack and husband Joshua, Minnie M. Procell, and Jeremy Campbell and Maria; great grandchildren, Randy J. Procell, Brooklyn Paige Procell, Austin Cameron Slack, and Julia Elayne Campbell; special children close to his heart, Shania Wright, Madline and Rasha Rivers, Trevor Dowdy, Brandy Stout, Dillon Ethridge, Angel and Ronnie Remedies, and Phillip James Rivers. Mr. Procell was preceded in death by his father, Sam Procell and mother, Minnie Sue Procell; two brothers, Willis F. "Boots" Procell, and Curtis Procell; one sister, Mildred Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
