Pynes Presley of 2020 Chemawa Rd. NE, Salem, Ore., died Wednesday at a local nursing home. Born May 20, 1900, in Hornbeck, Louisiana, to Effie Sanders Pynes and Ollie Pynes, she had lived and worked many years in Portland. She was a Certified Nurses Aide at the Oregon Veterans Hospital in Portland, before her retirement. She moved to Salem 14 years ago to be near her son's family. She was married to Ollie F. Presley, June 7, 1918, in Monroe, Louisiana. Her husband passed away January 30, 1943, in Portland, Oregon. She is survived by two sons, Jesse F. "Pete" Presley, Salem, Ore., and Ollie "Lawrence" Presley of Texas; brothers, Sam, Ed, and Roy Pynes, all of Eugene; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, in Barrick Mortuary, with interment in City View Cemetery, Salem, Ore.
