All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** James Ronald Procell (Photo) James Ronald Procell, 19, senior in Zwolle High School, was accidentally drowned on Toledo Bend Lake near Ebarb, at 11:40 Saturday. Young Procell, along with his brother Clayton, and Rickey Caples, and Thomas Anderson, were in a fishing boat in a boat lane. The boys stated that Ronnie lost control in steering the boat, and overturned from the wake of another boat. Eye witnesses stated, "It just seemed to be a freak accident". Dispatched to the scene were Civil Defense Sheriff's Department Rescue Unit, Deputy Jack Brown, C. D. Director Rev. Bill White, H. C. Thompson, and diver Valmore Byles. Byles recovered the body in about 25 ft. of water, about 4:20 p.m., Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were held Monday morning, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zwolle, with Msgr. Robert C. Friend officiating. Burial was in Nacogdoches, Texas, on Tuesday, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Procell of Zwolle; two brothers, Robert Procell of Santa Claire, Calif., and Joseph Clayton Procell of Zwolle; three sisters, Mrs. Jo Ann Ezernack, Lois Marie Procell, and Donna Gail Procell, all of Zwolle; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Procell of Many; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Frank Garcie of Nacogdoches, Tex.; and his great grandmother, Mrs. Lee Acosta of Nacogdoches.
