Parker, 73, of Vivian, were at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, in McGuire Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Merlin Liverman, pastor of First Baptist Church in Vivian, officiating. Burial was in Vivian Cemetery. Mrs. Parker died Thursday, Jan. 17, in North Caddo Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. A native of Stephens, Ark., she had been a resident of Vivian for 52 years. Survivors include sons, Jack Parker Jr. and James P. Parker, both of Vivian; stepson, Edward Gresham of Blanchard; daughters, Sue Walker of Many, Jimmie Doerge of Shreveport, and Billie Hindsman, and Shirley Young, both of Vivian; sisters, Frances Parker of Hampton, Ark., Flora Purifoy, Myrtie Stewart, and Billie Boyette, all of Camden, Ark., and Norma Stewart of Fordyce, Ark.; brother, Carlton Crumpier of Vivian; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy Jones, Jimmy Boyette, Allen Davis, J. F. Cross, Mike Stewart, and H. B. Butcher. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
