Rheese Parker, 70, of Sulphur, were held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Hammer-Lyons Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Wiley J. LaFleur, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Roselawn Cemetery. Mr. Parker died at 10:28 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, in West Calcasieu-Cameron Hospital. A native of Robeline, he had resided in Sulphur for 46 years. He was owner and operator of Parker's Grocery Store at Logan and Huntington Streets for 20 years, prior to his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Sulphur Lodge No. 424 F. and A.M., the Scottish Rite, and the Habibi Shrine Temple. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Doris Duhon Parker; two sons, Tim Parker of Texas City, Tex., and Ricky Parker of Sulphur; one daughter, Mrs. Becky Martin of Sulphur; one brother, Aubrey Parker of Lake Charles; one sister, Mrs. Maude McVea of Austin, Tex.; and three grandchildren. Attending the funeral of their uncle from the local area, were Mrs. Reuben Goodman and sons, Gordan, and Gene Parker of Many.
