Mertie Bell Parker

  Funeral services for Mertie Bell Parker, 80, were held at 11
a.m., Tuesday, March 27, at the Bethel Congregational Methodist
Church. Interment followed in the Old Pisgah Cemetery, under the
direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Mansfield. Rev. Foster
Jennings, assisted by Rev. Ed Fenton, officiated.

  Mrs. Parker was born in Natchitoches Parish. She was a former
resident of Vidor, Texas, and had resided in Pleasant Hill for
the past four years. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Jennings
Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, R. A. Parker; three
sisters; and one brother. She is survived by two sons, Don Parker
of Marthaville, and Cloy Parker of Beaumont, Texas; one daughter,
Doyla White of Vidor, Texas; two sisters, Trudy Megason of
Stafford, Arizona, and Susie Birdwell of Marthaville; one
brother, Dan Kelly Jennings of Marthaville; eleven grandchildren;
eighteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and
friends.
