Carmel Baptist Church. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Deloach, and Rev. James Hickman officiated. Mr. Parker died Wednesday, January 23, at his residence in Florien. He is survived by his wife, Melba Thaxton Parker of Florien; four sons, Donnie Ray Parker of Hornbeck, Hardy Gene Parker of Dallas, Tex., Tony Ray Parker, and Tracy Wade Parker, both of Florien; one step son, Virgil McVicker of Huntsville, Ala.; one daughter, Christine Jarvis of Dallas, Tex.; two step daughters, Beverly Pennington of Meridian, Miss., and Brenda McVicker of Huntsville, Ala.; mother, Gladys Hilton Parker of Anacoco; one sister, Lorraine Graham of Hornbeck; two brothers, Jerry Parker of Florien, and Jimmy Parker of Anacoco; and eighteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Freddie Parker. Pallbearers included Virgil McVicker, Tony Ray Parker, Tracy Wade Parker, Gary Pennington, Steve Parker, Tim Parker, John Parker, and Joe Dowden.
