Prewitt 12 Mar 1948 - The remains of Pfc. Ronald A. Prewitt, age 33, were laid to rest at Pisgah 2 p.m. Sunday. Funeral rites were conducted by Rev. Charles S. Miers, pastor First Baptist church, Many. Military services at the grave was conducted by the national guard unit of Many. Interment was under direction Massingill funeral home. Pfc. Prewitt was a member of the 169th infantry regiment, 43rd division. He was wounded on New Georgia island and passed away July 4, 1943, in a hospital at Guadalacanal. The hero is survived by is mother, Mrs. Eva L. Prewitt of Toro; brothers, Bernice, Irvin and Henry Lee Prewitt of Toro, and Wilmer Prewitt of Hornbeck; sisters, Mrs. R. H. Williams, Alexandria, Mrs. A. A. McGraw, Fairdale, Texas, Mrs. Andrew Miles, Toro, Mrs. Melvin Hale, Leesville; 10 nephews and nieces.
