Wash Prewitt 6 Mar 1942 - Funeral services for G. Wash Prewitt, 84, who died at his residence in Hornbeck Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Good Hope Baptist church with the Rev. Allen Martin officiating. Interment was in the Good Hope cemetery under the direction of the Roberts funeral home of DeRidder. Deceased was another of the pioneer who served his country as best he could in the early days. He underwent many hardships that the present generation of people do not know but little if anything about. Yet he was faithful and upright in is life, stand-by in the time of need for reliable men. Deceased is survived by five daughters, Mrs. George Snell, Mrs. Elmer Brown and Mrs. M. H. Chance of Hornbeck, Mrs. L. A. Merritt of Silsbee, Texas, and Mrs. L. H. Addison of Port Arthur, Texas; three sons, Y. H. Prewitt and J. W. Prewitt of Anacoco and W. B. Prewitt of Leesville, as well as a host of friends in Louisiana and Texas.
