Prewitt, 75, of Bernice, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bernice. Rev. Luther Hall officiated, assisted by Randy Harris, and Rev. Forrest. Post Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Bernice. He died Sunday, Jan. 2, 1982, at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, after a lengthy illness. Rev. Prewitt, a retired Baptist minister, was a member and former pastor of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. He had been an ordained Baptist minister since Oct. 19, 1930, and pastored several churches in Louisiana and Texas. Rev. Prewitt was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Little Prewitt, Flossie Prewitt of Bernice; son, Herbert Allen Prewitt of Florien; daughters, Mrs. Verda May Stall, and Mrs. Mary Annette Bowden of Bernice, Mrs. Doris Irene Barkley of Monroe, Mrs. Betty Evelyn Elkins, and Mrs. Patsy Ruth Elkins of Spearsville; brother, Rev. Hall Prewitt of Evans; twelve grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Eugene Williams, Ted Roberts, Larry Gray, Jim Mabry, Gene Thomas, Bobby Burns, Johnny Bowen, and W. C. Russell.
