Pruett, 85, were conducted Tuesday, January 16, at 2 p.m., at Bethsadia Baptist Church, with Rev. Don Nunley officiating. Burial was in the Bethsadia Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m., Monday, at the Funeral Home. Mr. Pruett entered into rest at the Sabine Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Sabine Parish, and former resident of Shreveport, and Bethsadia Community, Mr. Pruett, after beginning employment in 1927, retired from Libby Owens Ford in Shreveport in 1969, after 42 years of service as a glass worker. Mr. Pruett was a member of Masonic Lodge #144 in Many, a master Mason for 60 years, a member of the Board of Directors of District 8, Baptist Association, he was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Shreveport, and later at Bethsadia Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member, and former Sunday School teacher. Mr. Pruett was a devoted, loving husband, father, and neighbor. Survivors include one daughter, Margie Williford, and her son, Dr. Mike Williford, both of Shreveport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald Quinton Pruett and his wife Mattie of Bossier City, and their son, Dr. Steve Pruett of Richmond, Virginia, Johnnie J. Pruett and his wife Barbara of Vinton, and their daughters, Annette Gilcrease of Bethany, Melodie Wright of DeBerry, Texas, and Joy Sedlock, and Stacy Pruett, both of Vinton; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Myrt Pruett, Elma Mains, Virgie Rains, and Sybil Adair, all of Many; five brothers, J. C. Pruett of Shreveport, James Pruett of Tampa, Florida, Wilcie Pruett of Shreveport, Earl Pruett of Many, and Felton Pruett of Shreveport. Pallbearers were Robert Sibley, George Strickland, Buford and Joel Heard, Ronnie Gilcrease, Terry Wright, Mike Williford, and Steve Pruett.
