Minnie Porter

  Mrs. Minnie Porter, 84, of Mt. Carmel, died in Minden on
Tuesday, May 23, at 4 a.m., following an extended illness.

  Survivors include her brother, Raymond Mitchell of Mt. Carmel;
four foster children, Mrs. Mae Bell Russell of Boyce, Mrs.
Laverne Chance of Minden, Walter Lee Mitchell of Shreveport, and
Mrs. Mildred Miller of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services were held at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on
Thursday, May 25, at 10 a.m. Officiating were the Rev. Earl Marr,
and the Rev. Truman Leach. Burial was in the Fisher Cemetery,
under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
