Minnie Porter

  Mrs. Minnie Porter, 84, of Mt. Carmel, died in Minden, on
Tuesday, May 23, at 4 a.m., following an extended illness.

  Survivors include her brother, Raymond Mitchell of Mt. Carmel;
and four foster children, Mrs. Mae Bell Russell of Boyce, Mrs.
Laverne Chance of Minden, Mrs. Mildred Miller of Kansas, and
Walter Lee Mitchell of Shreveport.

  Funeral services were held at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on
Thursday, May 25, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Earl Marr, and the
Rev. Truman Leach officiating. Burial was in the Fisher Cemetery,
under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
