Prothro, 73, of Robeline, died in a Many hospital Thursday, Nov. 17, after an extended illness. Funeral services were conducted in the Rocky Mount Methodist Church near Marthaville, with the Rev. Dell Durand, the Rev. J. C. Reaucheau, and the Rev. Foster Jennings officiating. Interment was in the Rocky Mount Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include his widow; four sons, Paul Prothro of Houma, James Prothro of Midland, Tex., C. W. Prothro of Houston, Tex., and John Prothro of Shreveport; four stepsons, Thomas Beavers of Enterprise, Ala., Jerry Beavers of Bay City, Tex., Dale Beavers of Universal City, Tex., and Billy R. Beavers of Kenner; two daughters, Mrs. E. D. Schumacker of Lake Charles, and Mrs. H. M. Parker of Provencal; one step daughter, Mrs. Albert W. Bruce of Marthaville; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Winn, Mrs. Christine Crumo, and Mrs. Irene O'Brien, all of Marthaville; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were William Parker, Adrian Parker, Max Vought, Boyd Derr, Jack Winn, and Edgar Winn.
