He was born in Polk County, Tex., on Nov. 7, 1874. He was laid to rest on Jan. 1, 1958, in Spring Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home. Rev. Cecil Salley officiated. Father Rowe accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and on Oct. 2, 1955, united with the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, and was baptized by Rev. Cecil Salley. His parents moved to Louisiana when he was three years old, and he has lived around Pleasant Hill all his life. At the age of 26, he was married to Coddie Wilson on Feb. 22, 1900. Father Rowe had suffered from a heart condition for several years. Through all his suffering, he never complained. He bore them like the good Christian he was. He was a good husband, and a good father, and a neighbor and friend to all. He was loved by every one who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Coddie Rowe; four children, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Harper, Homer, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rowe, Carl Rowe, Roy Rowe, all of Pleasant Hill. Our hearts are made sad by the passing of our loved one, but our loss is Heaven's gain.
