Mr. Reeves was killed in an auto crash about two miles north of Many in the early part of the night of July 4. He was returning from Zwolle after visiting with the president of the Sabine parish school board, F. A. Keelen. Apparently losing control of his car, it turning over several times. Having been carried to the Fraser sanitarium, he passed away 6:45 Friday, July 5, age 48 years. Mrs. Reeves had been superintendent of the Sabine parish schools since 1921, coming to Many from Florien, where he served as principal of the Florien high school. Born Feb. 15, 1892, Mr. Reeves was graduated from the DeSoto parish high schools and from the Louisiana State Normal. After graduation from the Norman he became principal of the Florien high school, later doing summer work at Centenary college and Louisiana State university. The 19 years Mr. Reeves spent as superintendent of the schools of Sabine parish he worked almost unceasingly in the work of promoting better school and facilities for the schools, truly playing a major part in bringing the schools up to the present standards. The love and respect that he commanded was evidenced by the overflowing crowds of friends from all over the state at the funeral and the profusion of floral offerings. The town of Many as well as the parish lament the passing of such a useful citizens.
