All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Dr. Archie Robinson Services were at 4 p.m., sunday, Sept. 7, at the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, for Dr. Archie Edward Robinson, 45, of 10B DeVille Place, a local radiologist. Dr. Robinson died Saturday, Sept. 6, at 8:30 a.m., at Schumpert Medical Center, from injuries received Aug. 31, in an automobile accident at State Hwy. 71, and State Hwy. 84 in Clarence. Dr. J. Frank Alexander, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiated. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Dr. Robinson was a native of Minden, and a graduate of Louisiana State University, and the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. After serving with the U. S. Army, he completed his residency training at the Huey P. Long Charity Hospital at Pineville in 1959. Dr. Robinson practiced in Springhill from 1959 until 1969, and completed a residency training program in radiology at Confederate Memorial Medical Center in 1972, before becoming a faculty member in the Department of Radiology at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. He resigned from the department in 1973, and was engaged in private practice until his death. Dr. Robinson practiced at Pleasant Hill during 1973-74. During his high school years he attended Pelican High School where his father, the late A. E. Robinson was principal for several years. He was a member of the American Academy of General Practice, the Shreveport and Louisiana Medical Societies, the American Medical Association, the Radiological Socity of North America, First Presbyterian Church, and Gen. Richard Taylor Camp 1306 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Dr. Robinson was a past president of the 4th district Association of General Practitioners, and a fellow of the American Geriatric Society. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy Robinson; two sons, Dean E. Robinson, both of Shreveport; a daughter, Leslie Anne Robinson of Shreveport; his mother, Mrs. A. E. Robinson of Shreveport; and two brothers, Dr. James R. Robinson of Shreveport, and Dr. William K. Robinson, with the U. S. Army in El Paso, Tex.
