Robinson 26 Jun 1942 - Funeral services were held Monday morning for Mrs. D. A. Robinson at St. John's Catholic church, where a requiem high mass was sung for the repose of the soul. Rev. J. A. Benoit was celebrant of the mass, Rev. M. L. Plauche, former pastor here and a near friend of the family, assisted with the funeral services and delivered a sermon. St. John's choir sang requiem mass, directed by Rev. M. L. Plauche and assisted by the choirs from Leesville and Natchitoches. Miss Lois Watson of Leesville sang the "Veni Jesu" during the offertory of the mass. Rev. M. L. Plauche rendered most beautifully the "Dres Irae" in Gregorian chant. Surviving are the husband; six sons, Will, Coda, Roy and Paul of Many, Rolla of Fisher and Simon of Shreveport; five daughters, Mrs. J. F. Springer, Mrs. Louis Davis, Agnes Robinson and Mrs. Bill Ashley of Many and Mrs. Gene Winbery of Port Arthur, Texas; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, J. H. Taylor, Logansport; one sister, Mrs. M. S. Key. Pallbearers were: J. J. Blake, E. A. Scaife, Robert Jackson, C. B. Funderburk, W. A. Lee and J. A. Key. Mrs. Robinson, age 73 years, passed away Sunday morning at the Fraser sanitarium after an illness of about four months. This was the first break in the family since her marriage in 1884. She was a native of Natchitoches parish but has lived in Many for the past 35 years. The love and esteem was attested by the profuse floral offerings. Mrs. Robinson will be greatly missed by her many friends.
