Sam H. Rivers, Jr.

  Services for Sam Henry Rivers, Jr., were held at 2 p.m., Monday,
May 23, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis, with the Revs. Fred
Ponder, and Tom Curry officiating. Burial was in Memory Lawn
Cemetery.

  Rivers, 69, of Natchitoches, died at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21,
1983, in his residence.

  He was a native of Zwolle, and a retired bookkeeper for Hines,
Jackson, and Hines accounting firm. He was retired from the Air
Force, after 21 years.

  Survivors include his wife, Dorothy H. Rivers of Natchitoches;
one son, Michael K. Rivers of Natchitoches; one daughter, Mary
Jane Bloomquist of Greenville, Miss.; one stepdaughter, Sallie
Box of Rector, Ark.; his stepmother, Ethel LaRoux of Zwolle; one
half sister, Marilyn Sepulvado of Zwolle; one brother, T. J.
Rivers of McLean, Va.; one half brother, Bobby J. Rivers of
Zwolle; and two grandchildren.
