Virgil E. Rivers

  Virgil E. Rivers, 74, of Zwolle, died Tuesday, April 1, 1986, at
5:37 a.m., after a long illness.

  Funeral services were held at the Carson Baptist Church on
Wednesday, April 2, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Don Hager, and the
Rev. Wesley Jackson officiating. Interment was in the Bayou Scie
Methodist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home of Many.

  Mr. Rivers is survived by his wife, Mary Roberson Rivers of
Zwolle; two sons, Kenneth R. Rivers, and Paul L. Rivers of
Zwolle; five daughters, Nelda Stevens of Pleasant Hill, Evelyn
Champion of Many, Carrie Martinez, Gayle Crittenden, and Virginia
Nash of Zwolle; one brother, Clarence C. Rivers of Rock Port,
Tex.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Eddie Martinez, Freddie Nash, Dalton Stevens,
Bernice Crittenden, Sam C. Craig, John Faircloth, James Gould,
and Joe Candella.
