Rivers Services for Mr. Clyde Ernest Rivers, were conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zwolle on Monday, June 15, 1992, at 2 p.m. Officiating was Father Danny Walsh. Interment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Rivers was born on July 5, 1902, the oldest of nine children born to R. D. and Elizabeth (Belle) Sepulvado Rivers. He died on Saturday, June 13, 1992, at 7:35 p.m., 22 days before his 90th birthday. He had been bedridden by a stroke since October 14, 1984. Mr. Rivers was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zwolle. He was a member of the Catholic Knights of America, and was a faithful usher for many years. Participating in daily Mass, he was an unofficial smiling greeter at the church doors. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carrie Ebarb Rivers; sons, Douglas Rivers of Zwolle, Clyde Rivers of Orange, California; daughters, Doris Rivers, and Rachel Rivers Sepulvado, both of Zwolle; sister Maggie Ebarb of Zwolle; brother, Reasing Rivers, also of Zwolle; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Anthony, and David Rivers; sister, Annie Rivers Ebarb, and Rosie Rivers Diamond; brothers, Fred (Bill) Rivers, Leroy (Jake) Rivers, Tom Rivers, and Richard Rivers. Pallbearers were John H. Procell, William Sepulvado Jr., Hosea Remedies Jr., Freddie Rivers, Sammy Rivers, and Allen Rivers.
