All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Everlee Peacock Rivers Funeral services for Everlee Peacock Rivers, 91, of Monroe, were held Thursday, Jan. 24, 1997, at the First Baptist Church in Zwolle. Officiating was Rev. Vernon Stephenson, and Rev. Jerry Penfield. Interment was at the Zwolle City Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Rivers died Wednesday, Jan. 22, after a lengthy illness, at the Oaks in Monroe. She was a native of Sabine Parish, where she lived many years. She retired from Buckner's Children's Home in Dallas, Texas. She was very active in the Baptist Church all her adult life. Mrs. Rivers was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Zwolle Chapter No. 200. She was greatly loved, and will be missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Arthur J. Rivers; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Peacock Sr. of Pleasant Hill; four brothers, H. C. Peacock, Marlin Peacock, Chester L. Peacock of Zwolle, and Rev. H. L. Peacock Jr. of Mansfield; one sister, Mrs. Jackie P. Reed of Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Rivers is survived by two brothers, Henry Clay Peacock and wife Helen of Zwolle, and James E. Peacock and wife Jean of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie P. Dans of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Lillie Ola Gunter and husband Delaney of Monroe, and Mrs. Betty Jo Richard and husband Roy of Franklinton; seven nieces; and seven nephews. Pallbearers were James Salter, Kenneth Dockens, Milton McFerrin, Travis Wilson, Jack Napier, and Jim Graves.
