Mr. George Reasing Rivers

  Mr. George Reasing Rivers, 79, died Saturday, Nov. 7, in
Alexandria.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 9, at St.
Joseph Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Joseph
Cemetery. Father Kenneth Williams, and Father Peter Pulivelil
officiated.

  Survivors include his widow, Marjorie Marie Rivers of Zwolle;
six sons, Freddie Rivers, Sammy Rivers, Allen Rivers, and Glenn
Rivers, all of Zwolle, Thomas Rivers of Keithville, and Larry
Rivers of Lafayette; three daughters, Marjorie Procell, Sharon
Ebarb, and Karen Tanner, all of Zwolle; one sister, Maggie Ebarb
of Zwolle; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host
of nieces and nephews. Mr. Rivers was preceded in death by his
parents, Richard D. and Elizabeth Rivers; two grandsons, Shaun
Rivers, and Rodney Rivers; and one granddaughter, Gina Rivers.

  Pallbearers were his grandsons, Roger Rivers, Harold Procell
Jr., Chad Procell, Ron Rivers, Jeff Rivers, Brad Rivers, and
Dustin Rivers. Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters,
Melinda Martinez, Shannon Ezernack, Tina Watson, Jill Rivers,
Beth Rivers, Cindy Martinez, Wendy Rivers, Amanda Rivers, Lacey
Rivers, Holly Ebarb, Terria Ebarb, and Kristin Castillo.
