All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Fred Roberson Death claimed one of Zwolle's leading citizens Sunday, Feb. 26, at 4 a.m. Taken from this earthly life was Mr. Fred M. Roberson Sr., 58, respected pharmacist. Mr. Roberson had operated Pelican Drug at Zwolle since 1961. Prior to that, he operated a drug store in Dubach. Before that he had managed Walgreen Drug Stores in Chicago, Knoxville, and Nashville. During his life, he had served as a detail man for Winthrop Laboratories in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. He was a past president of the Zwolle Lions Club, and a member of the Zwolle Area Development Association. He also held membership in the Louisiana State Pharmaceutical Association. Funeral services for Mr. Roberson were held Monday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m., in the Fellowship Baptist Church near Dubach, with the Rev. D. A. Daughty officiating. Burial was in the Fellowship Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. The body lay in state at the Fellowship Baptist Church, from 12 noon until the time of services. Survivors included his wife; two sons, Fred Roberson Jr. of Zwolle, and Frank Roberson of Roberson, Ill.; his mother, Mrs. T. R. Roberson of Dubach; a brother, M. R. Roberson of Shreveport; and two grandchildren.
