All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Irene Thomas Roberts Irene Thomas Roberts, a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother has departed to be in her heavenly home with our Lord and Savior, "Jesus Christ", Tuesday, April 27, after a short illness at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Mrs. Roberts will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was born to Enola and Alfred Thomas, Jan. 16, 1910 in Shreveport. She moved from Shreveport in 1939, later living many years in Baton Rouge and on Toledo Bend Lake outside Many before moving to Destin, Fla. in 1997 to be near family members. Graveside services were held at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Tuesday April 29, at 2 p.m. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Duke Roberts of Destin, Fla.; one son, J. Duard Roberts and daughter-in-law. Essie Anderson Roberts of Destin, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rhonda Roberts Clark of Baton Rouge, Duard "Buddy" Roberts and Lori Roberts Moore, both of Destin, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Karrie R. Clark of Baton Rouge, Jason W. Roberts, Jeffrey M. "Jeff" Roberts and Katie L. Moore, all of Destin, Fla.; and one sister, Mildred Duncan of Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Alfred L. Thomas and Lewis P. Thomas.
