John A. Roberts

  Funeral services for Elder John A. Roberts of Many, were held
Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m., in New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Burial followed in New Jerusalem Cemetery, under the direction of
Thomas Mortuary.

  Elder Roberts departed this life, Monday, Oct. 7, at Heritage
Manor Nursing Home #1, at the age of 93.

  He leaves to mourn his home going, Three daughters, Mrs. Jonnie
Mae Gray of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Pearlie Lewis of Many, Mrs.
Hattie B. Harris of Houston, Tex.; a very special friend, Mr.
Booker Washington; two sons-in-law, Mr. Jimmy Lewis, and Mr.
Charles Harris; seven grandchildren, Mr. John C. Levo of Houston,
Tex., Mrs. Carolyn Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. Johnny Raye
Gray of Lufkin, Tex., Mrs. Gertrude Coswell of Many, Mr. Lawrence
Robinson Jr., and Mrs. Margaret Vinson, both of Houston, Tex.;
nine grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one
sister-in-law; four nephews; two nieces; and a host of other
relatives and friends.
