All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Dovie Leon Raybourn Mrs. Dovie Leon Raybourn, 93, of Many died peacefully at Sabine Medical Center in Many on Friday, April 10, 1998. She will be remembered by many as a beloved mother, grandmother sister, aunt and friend. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at the First Baptist Church in Many with interment following at Zion Hill Cemetery at Negreet. Dr. Ed Scott and the Rev. Billy Burkett officiated. Mrs. Raybourn was a resident of IHS in Many, where she served as an inspiration to many of the residents and staff. She served there as President of the Resident's Council and was selected as the Valentine Queen for several years. She was born November 13, 1904 to William C. and Louvonia Davis Willson in Arden, Ark. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Many and the Melrose Chapter #920 of the Order of Eastern Star. "Miss Dovie" or "Mama Moore", as she was referred to by family and friends, is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Curtis of Many; daughter-in-law Pat Moore of Shreveport; sister, Katie Nell Dumas; brother, William Ben Wilson of Ashdown, Ark.; and five grandchildren, Douglas Curds, Jr. of Tallulah, John Curtis and Linda Curtis of Many, Phyllis Longmire of Shreveport and Chris Moore of Coushatta. She was beloved by her step children; a host of grandchildren; great- grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Raybourn was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John C. Moore in 1949 and John W. Raybourn in 1986; one son, John Wilson Moore of Shreveport; four brothers, Thomas Earl Willson of LaPorte, Texas, Royce Edward Wilson, Joe Locke Wilson and Winston William Wilson of Ashdown, Ark; and two sisters, Hatie Lee Curlee of Shreveport and Minerva Victoria Willson of Ashdown, Ark. Pallbearers were John Curtis, Jr., Moses Curtis, Joe Louviere, Jessie T. Curtis, Jon Worley and Bruce Gandy. The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Greg Founds of Many, IHS and Sabine Medical
