Rayburn 1 Oct 1948 - Funeral rites for W. H. Rayburn, age 78, who passed away in a Shreveport hospital, were conducted 10 a.m. Thursday of last week at Hornbeck Baptist church by Rev. L. N. Hoffpauir assisted by Revs. H. A. Chance and Hall. Interment was in Holly Grove cemetery under direction Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were Will Conerly, Dock Lee, W. C. Dees, Troy Morrison, Ben Hughes and Leo Fish. Mr. Rayburn was a lifetime member of Hornbeck Methodist church ad a member of the board of stewards. Besides the widow of Hornbeck, surviving relatives include: daughters, Mrs. D. R. Sirman, Noble, Mrs. Lee M. Crowell, Beaumont, Texas; Miss Velma Rayburn, Hornbeck, Mrs. E. F. Presley, DeRidder, Mesdames F. T. Stets and H. A. Langton, Port Arthur, Texas, Mrs. Sherrod M. Jones, DeRidder; sons, Harold, Steve, John and Clyde, all of Beaumont, Texas; brothers, J. F. Rayburn, Albuquerque, N. M., S. A. Rayburn, Anacoco; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
