W. H. Efferson officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Hixson Bros. Ricks died at 5 a.m., Monday, in Schumpert Medical Center, Shreveport. He was a retired teacher in industrial arts at Boyce High School, and Alexandria Trade School. He was a retired Baptist minister, and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne C. Ricks of Boyce; one son, Gene W. Ricks of Houston; four daughters, Sue Bordeaux, and Betty Vaughn, both of Alexandria, Karen Ricks of Boyce, and Janice Breaux of Opelousas; three brothers, William Ricks of Nederland, Texas, Marcus Ricks of Port Arthur, Texas, and Cannon Ricks of Florien; one sister, Sylvian Addison of Florien; 11 grandchildren. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
