Ross Services for Mrs. Maudie D. Ross, 86, were at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 1989, at the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill. Officiating was Rev. Vernon Stephenson, and assisting was Rev. Stephen Pyle. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. She died Wednesday, April 5, 1989, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. Mrs. Ross was a native and lifelong resident of Sabine Parish. She had spent the last one and one half years in Shreveport. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband, A. D. Ross Sr.; and two daughters, Vivian Nickols, and Grace Cummings. She is survived by one son, Andy D. Ross Jr. of Kenai, Alaska; three daughters, Cecil Walker of Shreveport, Louise Haire of Many, Eleanor Cottrell of Shreveport; one sister, Viola Simpson; and one brother, Hoyt Dillard, both of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill.
