Reeks, 75, were held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, August 11, at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Bill Stowell, pastor of Emanuel Baptist Church. Visitation was at 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, at the funeral home. Mrs. Reeks died Monday, August 8, 1994, in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Belmont, and had resided in Shreveport for 50 years. Mrs. Reeks was a member of the Church of Christ, and had worked for Sears for 33 years, as a saleslady. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Trasher; three sisters, Ruby Basco, Marie Graham, and Hattie Hardwick; two brothers, George, and Huey Strickland. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Thomas, and Gwen Hickman, both of Shreveport; three grandchildren, Steve Demaree, David, and Sherry Hickman; three sisters, Estelle Seal of Shreveport, Irma Adams of Keithville, and Nellie Ocon of Robeline. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
