Mrs. Rascoe was born in Converse on March 9, 1935, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 25, at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Burial followed at Union Springs Cemetery in Converse. The Rev. David Lane, pastor of Union Springs Baptist Church, officiated. The Rev. Don Harris, and the Rev. Delman Rogers assisted. Survivors include her husband, Buford Rascoe of Converse; two daughters, Kayla Long and husband Dale of Grand Cane, and Belinda Emory and husband Edwin of Shreveport; her mother, Fannie Lou Lum of Converse; two sisters, Mary "Cooler" Jordan and husband Lloyd of Shreveport, and Nell Boyd and husband Vance of Vivian; five grandchildren, Jonathan and Sarah Emory, Casey, Anne, and Rob Long; three nieces, Sherri Durham and husband Marvin, Karla Rushing and husband Jerry, and Teresa McCormick and husband Travis; two great nephews, Ryan, and Kyle Durham; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Rascoe was preceded in death by her ?, J. D. Lum. A special thanks to Drs. Barnhill, Blum, and Abdehou, and the medical staff of Schumpert Medical Center. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, La.
