Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 23, at Hixson Chapel of Lake Charles, with interment following at Crown Point Cemetery in Holbrook Park. The Rev. David DeWitt officiated. Mr. Richey was a native of Batson, Texas, and a resident of Many. He retired as a supervisor of South Central Bell, after 38 years. He served five years in WWII, in the Marines. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bobbie T. Richey of Many; two sons, James Douglas "Doug" Richey of Lake Charles, and Matthew Wallace "Matt" Richey of Moss Bluff; three daughters, Mrs. James "Anna" Kerwin, Patricia Wimberly, and Mrs. Charlie "Paula" McDonald, all of Lake Charles; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
