Gary S. Riech

  A Barksdale Air Force Base airman was killed, and two other
persons were injured in a head-on two car crash on U. S. Hwy. 171
near Zwolle, Friday night, Nov. 19.

  Killed was Gary S. Riech, 21, of Beardsley, Minn.

  Jerome DeLatin, 43, and Max Shaw, 28, both of Shreveport,
received serious injuries in the collision.

  Troopers Wingate Dowden, and Clarence Miller, said the accident
occurred just outside the Zwolle city limits. Riech was
apparently headed south, and the DeLatin auto was going north.
The cars collided head-on during a heavy fog.

  DeLatin and Shaw were treated first in the Sabine Clinic and
Hospital, and then taken to Schumpert Sanitarium in Shreveport,
Saturday.
