Royston 19 Dec 1941 - Last rites for John R. Royston, age 81 years, were held Monday evening at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist church, Rev. Oliver Roberts, Provencal, and Rev. C. W. Williams officiating, Dennis-Green funeral home directing, interment Fort Jesup cemetery. Pallbearers: J. W. Lucius, Rupert Lucius, T. M. Phillips, Eugene Dees, Robert Jackson, E. E. Smith, Many, and Walter and Hoyt Royston, Leesville. Surviving are nephews and nieces, seven nephews, C. S., R. N., J. E., L. H., and Walter Royston of Natchitoches, Jim Hendrix of Fordoche, Lester Posey of Natchitoches; one niece, Mrs. LeRoy Hix of Natchez. Mr. Royston was seriously burned in a gas explosion at the home of Mrs. Rueben Goodman Sunday and died a short time later at Fraser sanitarium.
