Buck Lavar Russell, 45, of Natchitoches, died in the VA Hospital in Alexandria, on Thursday, May 4, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with President Charles F. Cagle officiating, and assisted by the First Council to the Bishop, Kenneth Dutile. Full Military graveside services were held in the Robeline Cemetery, and interment was handled by the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Lt. Col. Russell is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Russell of Natchitoches; two sons, Buck Russell, Jr., and John Russell of Natchitoches; three daughters, Brenda Russell, and Betty Russell of Natchitoches, and Mrs. Pattie Stewart of Provo, Utah; one brother, Billy Ray Russell of Boyce, La., and parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Russell of Robeline, and one grandchild. Lt. Col. Russell is a former resident of Sabine Parish, and has many friends here.
