Officiating was the Rev. Lindsay Buans, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Longview. Burial was Saturday, at 2 p.m., at Diamond Crest Cemetery in Johnsonville, Calif. Mrs. Russell died Wednesday afternoon, following a long illness. She had lived in Longview for 1 1/2 hears, having moved from Herlong, Calif. She was a retired telephone operator, a native of Zwolle, a Southern Baptist, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Russell of Longview, and David Russell of Herlong, Calif.; one brother, W. W. Aten of Deberry, Tex.; three sisters, Lois Hill of Godley, Tex., Pearl Jordan of Conroe, Tex., and Opal Sandifer of Baton Rouge. She has two granddaughters, Patricia and Rachel Russell of Longview; two grandsons, Ronald Russell of Longview, and Clint Russell of Herlong, Calif. Mrs. Russell had a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends in and around Sabine Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenis H. Russell.
