All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Tilmon James Russell A lifetime resident of Sabine Parish, Tilmon James Russell, 51, expired at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Wednesday, Aug. 6, following an extended illness. Mr. Russell, who resided in Zwolle, operated the debarking machine at Vancouver Plywood Co., Inc., in Florien, prior to his illness. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waskom, Tex., but attended services at the Belmont Baptist Church, and the Bethsadia Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Juanita Russell, manager of Russell's Jewelry in Many; one son, Stan Russell of Zwolle; one daughter, Debbie Russell of Zwolle; four brothers, E. B. Russell of Belmont, Hoyt Russell of Zwolle, Harold Russell of Sugarland, Tex., and Wilbert Russell of Zwolle; and two sisters, Mrs. Marvin Carter of Belmont, and Mrs. John Strong of Zwolle. Funeral services were held in the Bayou Scie Methodist Church, Friday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. William Campbell, the Rev. Lee Dickson, and the Rev. Bill Sirman officiating. Burial was in the Bayou Scie Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Randel Rains, Charles Russell, Travis Wilson, Benny Russell, James Strong, and George Strickland. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Baptist Children's Home, or the La. Heart Association.
