Martin Buster "Papa" Rogers

  Martin Buster "Papa" Rogers, 71, died Aug. 31, at his lifelong
residence in Converse.

  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 3 at
Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with interment at Converse
cemetery. Officiating were the Revs. Jimmy Price, Adrian Fairchild,
and Bob Hannigan.

  He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Butler, and his parents,
Raymond and Jewel Rogers.

  Survivors include his wife, LaNell Rogers, a son, Marty Rogers, both
of Converse; two daughters, Vonda Miller of Shreveport, Susie Franklin
and husband, Michael of Converse; two granddaughters, Shannon Williams
of Converse and Erin Miller of Shreveport; one grandson, Scotty
Williams of Converse; a niece, Junie Williams and her daughter, Jenna,
of Gypsum, Co.

  Pallbearers were John Brock, Bo Clark, Michael Franklin, J.C. Price,
T.J. Hogeye Raborn, Ronnie Richardson, Roger Dale Springer, Donny
Thomas, Scotty Thomas, and Scotty Williams.

  Honorary pallbearers were Glen Jones, Bob Raborn, Richard Smith,
Louis Thomas, and Jerry
