Richards of Florien, were held Sunday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m., in the Macedonia United Methodist Church. Internment was in the Yellow Pine Cemetery. Mr. Richards, 83, died in his home on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 3:30 p.m., following a lengthy illness, at Freser Hospital. Officiating at the funeral was the Rev. Henry Gage, and the Rev. Richard Harry. The funeral was under the direction of the Winnfield Funeral Home in Mansfield. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Faustina Simmons Richards; six children; his step-mother, Mrs. Willie Ross of Pittsburgh, Penn.; two sisters, Mrs. Naomi Wilkins of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Ella Kahey of Florien; two brothers, W. D. Richards of Many, and Marcellas Fobbs of Zanesville, Ohio; and 14 great grandchildren. Richards' children are Felton Richards of Dallas, Tex.; Mrs. Beulah Simmons of Dallas; Miss Gwendolyn Richards, who represented her father Seamon of Washington, D. C.; Dr. Helen L. Richards of Grambling; Roosevelt Richards of Detroit; and Frank A. Richards of Germany.
