Richards Funeral services for Mr. James M. Richards, 81, of Many, were held Tuesday, July 18, in Many, at 10 a.m., under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many, and Thursday, July 20, in Lake Charles, at 10 a.m., under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Officiating were the Rev. Lowell Bell, and the Rev. Don McKinney. Interment was in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery of Lake Charles. Mr. Richards died July 16, in Sabine Medical Center in Many. Mr. Richards was born in Summerfield, Okla., December 17, 1913, to Winifred Brown and Thomas Henry Richards. Mr. Richards was a retired oilfield mechanic. Mr. Richards was preceded in death by his first wife, Voneata Richards, and by two granddaughters, Wendy, and Melissa Corkran. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Thelma Richards of Many; five children, Ronald James Richards of Ragley, Donald Lee Richards of Baton Rouge, Doyle Edward Richards of Lake Charles, Joyce Richards Picard of West Lake, and Gail Richards Corkran of Moss Bluff; two sisters, Lois Moore of Texas City, Texas, and Mary Virginia Reed of Eufaula, Okla.; two brothers, Thomas Richards of Moore, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were grandsons.
